Why ABSurd Fitness?

Hello! My name is Graham, welcome to Absurd Fitness. This is the by-product of what is now more than 20 years of health and fitness experience.

Making time to workout around working long hours in an investment bank, maintaining a social life and raising 3 young children has been a non-negotiable must for me for as long as i can remember. I love routine and structure and I love training , it’s literally what has got me out of bed at 5am for many years to allow me to workout and still make it the office by 7.30am.

Absurd Fitness is unique in that I am not a fitness professional , i am someone who also has to balance the demands of everyday life with ambitions to achieve peak fitness. I expect my experience, knowledge, challenges and limitations will likely resonate with many people out there and I hope to be able to provide some valuable insights.

Goals of this Blog

  • Help busy people to achieve their fitness goals
  • Provide a different perspective – I myself am also the target audience –
  • Dispel fitness myths and provide simple and practical information
  • Offer insight on the real challenges to living a fit and health lifestyle – motivation, prioritisation, consistency and productivity
  • Provide plenty of free information and value to others!

Why start ABSurd now?

To be brutally honest I am inspired to make a difference and positively impact others. Health and Fitness has been a core part of my lifestyle for over 25 years , i have voluntarily decided to live this way because I love it. I need a purpose and i am driven to see where i can take this

In someways, it is Absurd to take on a new venture working 50+ hours week in a demanding job, commuting 500 miles round trip to London every week , staying away 2 nights as well as raising 3 young children with my fantastic wife! Spare time is scarce, evenings are occupied trying to get kids to sleep, clearing up carnage and preparing for the next day.

I hope i can inspire others to find the time to look after themselves, understand how to do this effectively and in an enjoyable way
