My Six Pack Revolution Story Continued
If you missed my article on days 1-45, you can read that post here
For days 45-60, the meal plan changes and there seems to be a few more sweet options as well as some oats on there which I am delighted about!
On Day 46 I had my weekly photo submission and I was pretty pleased with the progress so decided to send my image to Scott Harrison directly. I received a direct message almost instantly and what followed was a phone conversation for the best part of an hour where we discussed my goals/objectives as well as my fitness history diet choices etc
The outcome of my chat was to look to pack on a bit more muscle by increasing my protein intake by increasing my post-workout serving and adding an additional meal replacement shake into my daily plan.
In terms of training, Scott also adjusted my program to include 2 x weekly challenge workouts plus 2x Spartan workouts which feature compound lifts and strength movements like pull-ups and clean and press so I can overload the muscles with heavier weight
Scott speaks with a confident assertiveness that I really do admire, very positive, no fluff, and no-nonsense. I finish the call more motivated than ever to stick to the plan and get the best results I possibly can!
My progress picture was actually posted into the Six Pack Revolution Hall of Fame and posted on all their social media outlets showcasing a sample of impressive results for the week! This was an added bonus and the Facebook community posted some lovely comments.
Six Pack Weekly Challenges
The challenges continue to change each week, lots of core and strength work with high volume. I tend to break down the total reps into heavier sets. On average I would say the workouts take around 45 mins and sometimes a bit longer with recording as well.
The daily exercises tick up by 10 reps each week so the volume gets progressively higher which actually starts to feel like a mini-workout itself
The meal plan has some nice new snack additions as I mentioned earlier and we are also still able to eat anything on the plan from days 1-30 so overall I haven’t changed too much as I am quite happy with the routine I am in at the moment
Six Pack Meal Plan Days 45-58
More variety was added and some really interesting dishes added. I broaden my current routine ever so slightly but continue to focus on the meals I can prepare in batches and which are relatively light touch. I tend to stock up on garlic, red onion, and red peppers as these give me a really nice array of options!
Day 60 Update
My progress picture looks a little regressive from day 45 but I expect this is a combination of lighting and water retention as well as the increased protein consumption.
Feel like I am still progressing, the next two weeks will no doubt present more challenges, I hear caffeine may go, not sure how that will work alongside my work travel commitments and pre-5 am starts to get in my Great North Run training.
The Six Pack Community
A really nice aspect of the training program is the community spirit in our Facebook group. As I mentioned in the previous post, we are required to post video evidence of all the workouts we do and there is a really nice vibe in the group with lots of positive comments and the coaches send words of encouragement and advice almost instantaneously. It is motivating to see fellow Six Packers posting their workouts and I am sure all of us have gained inspiration on those days when we didn’t particularly feel like training!
As the program progresses some guys are added to our group as they have been making great progress in one of the other programs (reminder – there are 3 programs, signature / intensive and extreme) which is really nice to see and is a testament to the attention and focus that Scott and his team give to the participants.
